The Lamar County Trojans entered their tilt with the Arabia Mountain Rams with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Lamar County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-63 victory over Arabia Mountain on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lamar County was led to victory by Zakiria Foster and Shakiria Foster. Foster dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Foster scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Foster's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Journi Harris was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Lamar County's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Arabia Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 10-1.
Lamar County will head out on the road to face off against Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arabia Mountain will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dutchtown at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
