Baseball Recap: Halls Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Halls never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Clarksburg Rockets with a sharp 14-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Tanner Belton was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Tucker Ozment was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Halls hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clarksburg struck out nine times.

Halls' victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Clarksburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halls will face off against Lake County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.35 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Clarksburg, they are taking a road trip to challenge Gleason at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
