The Gateway Charter Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Oasis Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Gateway Charter will be strutting in after a victory while Oasis will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Gateway Charter humbled Community School of Naples with a 49-19 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gateway Charter.
Gateway Charter found their leader in underclassman Katelyn Rosario, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals. Alisea Doan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Oasis had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Babcock on the road and fell 44-5.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Gateway Charter's victory pushed their record up to 2-0, while Community School of Naples' loss dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Gateway Charter against Oasis in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 57-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gateway Charter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
