Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge faced Niwot in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The SaberCats had just enough and edged out the Cougars  3-2.
 Fossil Ridge got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-21, 28-30, 17-25,  15-13.
 Arvada West's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Fossil Ridge, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  at home.
