Two new teams join this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school softball rankings

Postseason play has arrived for 15 teams in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school softball rankings.

In Louisiana, No. 13 Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport) is headed to the Division III Select semifinals Friday with the championship game set for the following day.

In Texas, top-ranked Melissa surpassed 100 combined home runs as a team during a dominant opening to postseason play, sweeping its series 13-1 and 12-1. The Cardinals launched five home runs in the first game and three more in the second. Kennedy Bradley leads the way on the season with 21 followed by Finlee Williams with 16 and Caigan Crabtree and Hutton Adrian with 15 apiece.

In Alabama, Central (Phenix City) joins Thompson (Alabaster) as MaxPreps Top 25 teams competing in the state's highly-competitive Class 7A playoff bracket — arguably one of the toughest postseason paths in the country. Central, which has won 27 in a row, is led by Mississippi State commit Allyson Supan in the circle and Alabama commit Gerritt Griggs at the plate.

4. Katy (Texas)

After a big 3-2 win over No. 10 Barbers Hill to close out the regular season, the Tigers rolled through bi-district play and will now play Cy-Fair next in Class 6A Division 1 playoffs.

5. Norco (Calif.)
Record: 23-2 | Last week: 5
The Cougars piled up 18 hits and 16 runs during a win over Corona Centennial on Thursday.

6. Lake Creek (Montgomery, Texas)
Record: 29-0 | Last week: 6
Chesney Davis and Madalyn Davis went yard to help the Lions advance in the Class 5A Division 2 playoffs.

7. Doral Academy (Doral, Fla.)
Record: 25-1 | Last week: 7
Anabela Abdullah hit a triple and a home run as the Firebirds beat Dr. Krop 15-0 to open Class 6A postseason play.

8. Coahoma (Texas)
Record: 27-0 | Last week: 8
Hannah Wells went deep twice while Kaedyn Lee, Addi Hart and Blakeley Rodgers all added home runs in a first-round 16-0 playoff win.

9. Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.)
Record: 20-3 | Last week: 9
The Lancers will return to action Tuesday against JSerra Catholic.

10. Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, Texas)

Aybrie Corona hit a double in the bottom of the fifth inning, driving in Lainey Maricle as the Eagles beat La Porte 2-1 to advance to second-round playoff action.

11. Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.)

The Eagles open Class 2A postseason play Tuesday.

12. Rosary Academy (Fullerton, Calif.)

Senior Gianna Serrano had a pair of hits and a RBI to help the Royals to a 5-1 win over Woodbridge on Thursday.

Eighth-grader Brynn Robinson had three hits and Kynzee Anderson hit a bomb as the Cavaliers rolled to a 15-0 quarterfinal victory.
