Softball Recap: Fleming Island Wins Going Away Against Bishop Kenny

After losing to Bishop Kenny the last time they met, Fleming Island decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fleming Island was the clear victor by an 11-4 margin over Bishop Kenny on Tuesday. Considering the Golden Eagles have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Massey and Olivia Sikes did most of the damage at the plate: Massey got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Sikes scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most RBI Massey has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anisten Kurlander, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Fleming Island kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Kenny only managed seven hits.

Fleming Island moved to 6-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Bishop Kenny, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Fleming Island has already played their next contest, an 8-1 win against Oakleaf on the 27th. As for Bishop Kenny, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-3 loss against Venice on the 28th.
