The Castlewood Warriors were the  54-35 winner over the Deuel Cardinals when they last played one another  back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Castlewood fell to Deuel  32-28. Castlewood has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Ella Hunter was Castlewood's leading scorer, having posted five points.   
 Natalie Akin took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
 Castlewood has  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost four of their last five matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Deuel, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castlewood will take on Clark/Willow Lake at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Deuel, they will stay at home for another  game and welcome Arlington at 4:00  p.m.  on January 9th. Arlington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Deuel in South Dakota (Arlington is ranked 17th, while Deuel is ranked 85th).
