Paradise Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleb Simmons, who rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Simmons is now averaging an impressive 114.5 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonzo Gonzales, who picked up 254 receiving yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Paradise Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Paradise Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Alek Bringas, Ethan Nancarrow, and Philip Kneib picked up one apiece. Bringas is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Paradise Valley got some further help from Kavish Vieira: he picked up 2.5 sacks and made seven total tackles (3.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, Cactus Shadows never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 win over Camelback. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Paradise Valley better keep an eye on Donivan Dixon. He was instrumental in Cactus Shadows' win, throwing for 350 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Those five passing touchdowns gave Dixon a new career-high. Alex Dafnis was in the mix too, providing Cactus Shadows with two scores.
Paradise Valley's record is now 3-1. As for Cactus Shadows, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Paradise Valley has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 386 total yards per game. However, it's not like Cactus Shadows struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 453.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Paradise Valley was taken down by Cactus Shadows 37-6 in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Thankfully for the Trojans, Corbyn Vasily (who threw for 186 yards and one TD while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
