Alcester-Hudson faced Chester in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Cubs were the clear victors by  a  15-5 margin over the Flyers. The Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Emma Moller made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  five innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Delta Pies, who  went 3-for-4 with four  runs, three  doubles,  and four  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Laney Decker, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
Alcester-Hudson's win was  their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 14-2. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Chester, their loss  ended  a  ten-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 8-2.
 Coming up, Alcester-Hudson will welcome Viborg/Hurley  at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 20th. As for Chester, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  15-4  win against Arlington/Lake Preston on the 13th.
