The King's Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Pee Dee Academy on the road and fell 55-20. King's Academy lost against Pee Dee Academy in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-24 score last time.
Pee Dee Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miles Trussell led the charge by scoring 9 points along with 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Hughes Elvington, who scored 8 points.
King's Academy bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.7 points per game. As for Pee Dee Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
King's Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Williamsburg Academy at 7:30 p.m. As for Pee Dee Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Marlboro Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
