Olympus unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 65-41 defeat at the hands of West. Olympus was down 52-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the defeat, Olympus got a solid performance out of Joss Baker, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 36.6% of Olympus' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lily Smith, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Brighton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over West.
Olympus' defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Brighton, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Olympus didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Bengals in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 61-57 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Brighton's Olivia Stephens, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
