It was a good run, but the Great Falls Red Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Hartsville by a score of 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hartsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was EJ Smith, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Smith pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayson Dawson, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Great Falls' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Hartsville, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Great Falls will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Buford at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Hartsville and Manning will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Manning focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday.
