The Farmington Knights will venture away from home to take on the North County Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Farmington has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Farmington couldn't beat Ste. Genevieve on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Knights wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Cooper Tripp put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tatem Tinsley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Festus hit North County with a six-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell 11-8 to the Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.
Zak Meador was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Helms, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Farmington's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for North County, their record is now 9-9.
North County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Farmington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for North County, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Farmington's hitters?
Farmington was able to grind out a solid win over North County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
