The Ontario Warriors's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Ashland Arrows at 7:15 p.m. on February 15th. Ontario will be strutting in after a win while Ashland will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Ontario beat Highland 36-30.
Meanwhile, Ashland struggled with three-point shooting accuracy last Saturday (Washington was 21% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Ashland suffered a rough 72-46 defeat at the hands of Washington. While losing is never fun, Ashland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Washington is ranked 175th).
Ashland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Camryn Cox, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Kennedy Lacey who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 34.8% of Ashland's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ontario's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Ashland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.
Ontario suffered a grim 46-26 defeat to Ashland when the teams last played back in November of 2017. Will Ontario have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
