On Friday, The Putnam Valley Tigers got themselves on the board against the Rye Neck Panthers, but the Rye Neck Panthers never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers, posting a 32-0 win at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Putnam Valley.
Putnam Valley had a senior duo take command as Ricky Meister rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry and Thomas Cunningham rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Cunningham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
Putnam Valley's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.5 points per game. As for Rye Neck, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
Putnam Valley will head out on the road to face off against Pleasantville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasantville will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Rye Neck does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
