A+ Charter School got a massive performance out of Carson De Paola, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave De Paola a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jose Coronado, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Ajo got the win against Tohono O'Odham on Friday by a conclusive 17-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.
Malin Lewis was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Ajo's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Crimzyn Lenard was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Ajo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .743. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
A+ Charter School's win bumped their record up to 6-1-1. As for Ajo, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. A+ Charter School has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510. However, it's not like Ajo struggles in that department as they've averaged .599. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
A+ Charter School took their victory against Ajo in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 14-0 score. Do the Maricopa have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
