Basketball Recap: Nolan Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Military Magnet Academy over Bethune-Bowman

Military Magnet Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks, falling 70-48. The Eagles were down 54-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nolan Johnson, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Perry, who posted 14 points.

Leading Bethune-Bowman to victory were Terreance McFadden and Bryson Robinson. McFadden had 28 points, while Robinson put up 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which McFadden has scored at least a third of Bethune-Bowman's points. Jaedon Bell was another key player, putting up eight points.

Military Magnet Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Bethune-Bowman, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Military Magnet Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-40 victory against Branchville on the 14th. As for Bethune-Bowman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-34 win against Cross on the 14th.
