DeSoto County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Sebring Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
DeSoto County suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 64-27 defeat at the hands of Venice. While losing is never fun, DeSoto County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Venice is ranked 76th).
Meanwhile, Sebring was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 60-54 to Lake Region.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Molly Jane Zwayer, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Radonski, who scored 12 points.
DeSoto County has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Sebring, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
DeSoto County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sebring when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 34-30 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Zwayer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
