McGavock waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cane Ridge Ravens. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Ravens back in August, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

McGavock never let Cane Ridge on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 26-24, 25-10.

Cailyn Ekberg paced McGavock's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ekberg got some help from Ali Haskins-Morgan and her 30 assists. Ekberg also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lacey Jordan, racking up four apiece.

McGavock's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Cane Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. McGavock is set to challenge their familiar foe Overton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cane Ridge will square off against rival Lawson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
