The Saratoga Panthers will take on the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Saratoga earned a 51-39 victory over Dubois. The win was just what Saratoga needed coming off of a 65-45 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Burlington 63-42. Rocky Mountain's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rocky Mountain found their leader in underclassman Lauren Bassett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bassett has scored at least 25% of Rocky Mountain's points. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKelle Moss, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Saratoga pushed their record up to 1-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rocky Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Saratoga ended up a good deal behind Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, losing 46-32. Thankfully for Saratoga, Teagan Townsend (who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
