Katrina Hagberg was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Hagberg was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Deuel let Kennedy Harmon and Roxanne Raml run wild. Harmon went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Raml went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. That's the most hits Harmon has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Lanners, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flandreau). They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Parker on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Fliers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Rylee Allen was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacey Sundermeyer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Flandreau always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Flandreau's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Deuel, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Deuel came out on top in a nail-biter against Flandreau when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
