Boulder City is 8-1 against Pahrump Valley since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Boulder City Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Pahrump Valley Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Boulder City was able to grind out a solid win over Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, taking the game 59-50.
Boulder City's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luke Wright, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Easton Welbourne, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Welbourne has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Roman Rose, who scored nine points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Pahrump Valley posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon 59-57. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pahrump Valley.
Boulder City pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Pahrump Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-7.
Everything came up roses for Boulder City against Pahrump Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 69-37 victory. Will Boulder City repeat their success, or does Pahrump Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
