The Columbus North Bull Dogs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 78-58 walloping at the hands of Jennings County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Columbus North lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Garrett Long, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Long has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Max Coomes, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Jennings County was led to victory by Cole Sigler and Carter Kent. Sigler scored 21 points, while Kent scored 28 points along with seven assists and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kent has scored at least a third of Jennings County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dorian Hacker, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Columbus North dropped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Jennings County, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Columbus North will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jennings County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Connersville at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th.
