It was a good run, but the Crestview Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Pace by a score of 35-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Crestview has suffered yet this season.
Crestview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Toney, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 48.5% of Crestview's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Boydstun, who scored four points along with 18 rebounds.
Crestview's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Pace, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Niceville at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Niceville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Pace, they will be playing at home against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
