Platteview had lost three straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-8 to make it four. They fell  4-0 to the Ralston Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  6-4  on April 1st.
Platteview got a good showing from  Michael Quinn, who   pitched four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side, Platteview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Logan Grosdidier, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  stolen base. That  hit was  Grosdidier's first of the season.
As for Ralston, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.
On Ralston's side,  the result came thanks to  Dallas Whetzal's shutout, as he gave up just four  hits. Whetzal has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Brayden Vandervort, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  triple,  and one  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cade Stix, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
