Basketball Recap: Santee's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Santee waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Diego Rivera Huskies, posting a 63-18 win. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brianna Collins, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Collins has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 36 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Desiree Aguillon, who had six points and three steals.

Santee's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Diego Rivera, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Santee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-19 win against West Adams on the 3rd. Diego Rivera has also already played their next contest, a 34-22 victory against Manual Arts on the 3rd.
