While Stratford put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Herndon. The Knights blew past the Hornets 11-0. Considering the Knights have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryce Herpolsheimer and Tripp Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Herpolsheimer went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Smith scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Stratford's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Herndon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Stratford and Herndon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Knights will take on Berkeley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (3 vs. 63). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Stratford 4.1, the Stags 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Herndon (ranked 44th) will meet George C. Marshall (ranked 243rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
