Mary Walker is 3-0 against Selkirk since December of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The pair will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
After a string of three wins, Mary Walker's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Inchelium by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Mary Walker has suffered yet this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Andru Pinyan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Lawrence, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Selkirk, who are still winless after their 13th match. They had to suffer through a rough 85-31 loss at the hands of Northport. Selkirk has not had much luck with Northport recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Mary Walker's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Selkirk, they bumped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Mary Walker against Selkirk when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 74-42 win. Will Mary Walker repeat their success, or does Selkirk have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
