If TERRA Environmental were feeling good off their 49-20 takedown of the Sunset Knights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. TERRA Environmental lost to Braddock on the road by a decisive 56-42 margin on Wednesday. TERRA Environmental lost against Braddock in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 38-29 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why TERRA Environmental lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shannon Greene. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Francesca Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Elsa Stier continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Braddock, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The match was Stier 's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Yvonne Jebian was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds.
TERRA Environmental has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Braddock, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
TERRA Environmental will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Mater Academy Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Mater Academy Charter is ranked 372nd, while TERRA Environmental is ranked 387th). Braddock will finish 2023 at home by hosting Coral Reef at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
