The Rancho Mirage Rattlers will head out to square off against the Moreno Valley Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Mirage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Moreno Valley will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Rancho Mirage extended their winning streak to three last Tuesday. The Rattlers came out on top against Cathedral City by a score of 5-1.
Anelisa Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilian Rocha, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Rocha is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Moreno Valley had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Eagles 16-1.
Like Rancho Mirage, Moreno Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Alexys Vasquez. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Vasquez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Ximenna Lopez was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with seven stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Marissa Martinez, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles.
The victory got Moreno Valley back to even at 7-7. As for Rancho Mirage, their record is now 9-7.
Moreno Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rancho Mirage has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Moreno Valley, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Rancho Mirage's sizable advantage in that area, the Vikings will need to find a way to close that gap.
