The Castor Tigers will head out to challenge the Lakeside Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Castor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Castor's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They didn't even let Lakeview on the board, marking the Tigers' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Caroline Bolyer looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Malorie Cooper, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Veda Keel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Lakeside came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Rebels.
Moose Jernigan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Emily Jones was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Raleah Harris, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Lakeside pushed their record up to 27-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Castor, their record now sits at 10-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Castor hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Castor suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Lakeside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
