The Owen Warhorses's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Tuesday after their fourth straight  loss. They took a serious blow against Mountain Heritage, falling  72-32. While losing is never fun, Owen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 521st, while the Cougars are ranked 40th).
 Despite the  loss, Owen had strong showings from  Ellie Martin, who  scored nine points along with six  rebounds and five  steals, and  Elly Wright, who  scored five points along with two  steals and two  blocks. Martin also  posted two  blocks for the first time this season.
 Owen has  been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last nine contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Mountain Heritage, the  win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owen won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against the Patriots at 6:00  p.m.  on January 31st. Madison is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a four-game streak of away losses. As for Mountain Heritage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
