The Celebration Storm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-36 walloping at the hands of Cypress Creek. Celebration was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.
Celebration's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jedaiah Sankitts, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals. Nicholas Edouard was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Celebration bumped their record down to 3-13 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cypress Creek, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Celebration won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Harmony presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Celebration in Florida (Harmony is ranked 85th, while Celebration is ranked 658th). As for Cypress Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
