Basketball Recap: Kaleigha Hartfield's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jackson North Side over Haywood

Jackson North Side lost against Haywood two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The game between the Jackson North Side Indians and the Haywood Tomcats didn't end well, with the Jackson North Side Indians falling 48-31. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tomcats 12-7 in the first quarter.

Jackson North Side's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleigha Hartfield, who posted eight points and four steals. Those four steals gave Hartfield a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madyson Person, who put up four points and 12 rebounds.

Camariya Woodland was her usual excellent self, putting up 21 points and eight rebounds for Haywood. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamiya Robertson, who had seven points and three steals.

Jackson North Side dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Haywood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Jackson North Side and Liberty Tech Magnet will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Haywood will take on Jackson South Side in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson South Side is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.
