Bangor is 0-4 against Nazareth Area since May of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Slaters will face off against the Blue Eagles at 11:00 a.m. Bangor will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Bangor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Moravian Academy a 21-0 shutout on Wednesday. With that victory, the Slaters brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Owen Mera looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Bangor got a massive performance out of Jaxson Kreider, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Gavin Pysher also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Bangor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Nazareth Area came out on top against Pleasant Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Blue Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bears. Considering the Blue Eagles have won six games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Landon Glovas made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Chase Kilareski was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Matt Daems was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
The win made it two in a row for Nazareth Area and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Bangor, their record now sits at 3-6-1.
