Basketball Recap: Spirit Homeschool Has No Trouble Against Families Instructing Students Homeschool

Spirit HomeSchool saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 80-60 margin over the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks. The Warhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Cushen, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 23 points. Cushen is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games he's played. Kalvin Kuhnke was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

The win made it two in a row for Spirit HomeSchool and bumps their season record up to 20-10. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 14-8 Palmetto HomeSchool (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.4% over those games). As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.

Spirit HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-60 victory against Forsyth Home Educators on the 6th. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-34 loss against Palmetto HomeSchool on the 6th.
