The Box Elder Bees's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northridge. Box Elder has not had much luck with Northridge recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Box Elder lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elijah Kersey. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 47.9% of Box Elder's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Max Isaacson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds and five blocks.
Box Elder dropped their record down to 7-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Northridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.
Box Elder will head out on the road to square off against Bonneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Box Elder is ranked 74th, while Bonneville is ranked 82nd). As for Northridge, they will be playing at home against Viewmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Viewmont likes a good challenge.
