There's no place like home for the Shiprock Chieftains, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-4 victory over Northwest at home. With that victory, Shiprock brought their scoring average up to 53.5 points per game.
Leading Shiprock to victory were Nicolette Howard and Shaisheia Begay. Howard scored 17 points, while Begay scored 20 points. Avayia Etcitty was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
The win got Shiprock back to even at 1-1. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shiprock won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Monument Valley at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st. Monument Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Northwest, they will be playing at home against Pine Hill at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
