Volleyball Recap: Sultana Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Sultana hadn't done well against Oak Hills recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Sultans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs. For the Sultans, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Sultana not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Oak Hills between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-17.

Sultana had a senior duo take command as Brooklyn Kelly had 14 digs and four aces and Violet Garcia had nine digs. Kelly is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Cissy Men also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Sultana was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Hills only served eight aces.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sami Semaia, who had 16 assists and three digs.

Sultana has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Oak Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sultana will take on Serrano at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games the Diamondbacks have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Oak Hills, they will face off against Burroughs at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
