Basketball Recap: Forest Hills Skates Past Central Academy with Ease

Forest Hills was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Central Academy on Friday. The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets blew past the Central Academy Cougars 54-23. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Forest Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azariya Griffin, who posted 13 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Those eight steals gave Griffin a new career-high. Layla Rushing was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Forest Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 36 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Martin, who put up six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Pringle, who had eight points and eight rebounds.

Forest Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.9 points. As for Central Academy, they are on a 41-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Forest Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-33 victory against Cuthbertson on the 10th. As for Central Academy, they have also already played their next contest, an 82-22 loss against Monroe on the 11th.
