The Yulee Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 56-32 defeat at the hands of Fernandina Beach. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Yulee has suffered against Fernandina Beach since January 14, 2019.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooke Reid, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reid has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rheyna Hilton, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Yulee bumped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Fernandina Beach, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yulee will take on Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fernandina Beach, they will play host again and welcome Westside, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Westside is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
