Middle College is 9-1 against Foshay since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Middle College Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Foshay Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Middle College was fully in charge, breezing past Stella High Charter Academy 59-27 at home. With Middle College ahead 38-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Middle College's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caeleb Franklin led the charge by scoring 10 points along with 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Jose Moreno, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Foshay blew past Stella High Charter Academy, posting a 105-27 win at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Foshay.
Foshay's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriel Wright, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Egwurube, who scored 20 points.
The losses dropped Middle College to 1-1 and Stella High Charter Academy to 0-3.
Middle College couldn't quite finish off Foshay when the teams last played back in January and fell 54-51. Can Middle College avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
