Chancellor is 0-10 against King George since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Foxes at 6:00 p.m. Chancellor has given up an average of 20.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Chancellor is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 27th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Westmoreland, falling 26-8. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Chargers' highest-scoring matchup to date.
Chancellor saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlyn Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Smith also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Adi Anderson was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for King George, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Spotsylvania by a score of 7-2 on Friday. The Foxes have beaten the Knights the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.
Kelsea Minter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run.
In other batting news, Paige Headley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Natalee Creveling, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
The win got King George back to even at 5-5. As for Chancellor, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
Chancellor's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Chargers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for King George, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chancellor continue to outrun the ball?
Chancellor might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from King George in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
