Berkshire is a perfect 3-0 against Beachwood since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Badgers will head out on the road to square off against the Bison at 5:00 p.m. Berkshire is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
On Wednesday, Berkshire made easy work of Cardinal and carried off an 11-1 win.
Holden Hedrick was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Hedrick was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Berkshire let Sam Barcikoski and Patrick Brancel run wild. Barcikoski got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs, while Brancel got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Barcikoski has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bear Masink, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Beachwood had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Chagrin Falls 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bison have posted since May 13, 2024.
Like Berkshire, Beachwood also got a great game from a two-way player: Josh Rosenblitt. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Rosenblitt has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. That double was his first of the season.
Rosenblitt wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caleb White, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Berkshire's record now sits at 4-9. As for Beachwood, their record is now 4-12.
Berkshire came out on top in a nail-biter against Beachwood in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Badgers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
