The East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] Rivals kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. The matchup between East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] and Crosspoint wasn't particularly close, with East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] falling 63-45.
Crosspoint was led to victory by Momoyo Iwata and Anna Kuske. Iwata dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Kuske scored 26 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Iwata scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riya Tobosa, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and five steals.
East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum]'s defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Crosspoint, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crosspoint won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Klahowya at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Klahowya will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Crosspoint is ranked 37th).
