The Edison Chargers will face off against the Tesoro Titans at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Edison will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Newport Harbor on Thursday. Edison blew past Newport Harbor 13-2. The Chargers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 20th.
Elina Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Aubrey Catron was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Avea Niumata was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Tesoro hadn't done well against JSerra Catholic recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Tesoro sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over JSerra Catholic.
Loula McNamara was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
McNamara wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Gillis, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Edison has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Tesoro's victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Tesoro's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Edison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for Tesoro, though, as they've only averaged .341. Will they be able to contain Edison's hitters?
Edison couldn't quite finish off Tesoro in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Edison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
