It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Bauxite Miners had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 win over McGehee at home. Winning may never get old, but Bauxite sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Bauxite got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Walt Duncan out in front who rushed for 90 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Perry, who rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown.
Bauxite is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for McGehee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Bauxite will take on Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Warren's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. McGehee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
