York is 9-1 against South Pointe since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Stallions at 6:00 p.m. York is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
York made up a huge gap compared to their last game against East Rutherford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Cavaliers on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Peyton Brooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, South Pointe fell victim to York and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to the Cougars. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

York's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for South Pointe, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. York hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like South Pointe struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
York took their win against South Pointe when the teams last played on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
