Softball Recap: Hollins Wins Going Away Against Countryside

Hollins won the last time they faced Countryside and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hollins Royals were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over the Countryside Cougars. The game marked the Royals' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Paige Westerfield made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Westerfield was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Vargas was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Aubri Cofield was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Hollins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hollins' record is now 4-5. As for Countryside, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hollins will challenge Northeast at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hollins is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season. Countryside will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
