Wrangell had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came within a single  set of losing the streak, but they secured  a   2-1 W against the Hoonah Braves. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Braves, too.
Wrangell can attribute much of their success to  Sophia MartinSen, who  had nine  digs and three  aces. That's the most  aces  Martinsen has posted since back in December of 2024.  Natalia AshtoN also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  block of the season.
 They weren't the only good servers: Wrangell  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with ten  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least seven  aces in five consecutive  contests.
Wrangell now  has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Hoonah,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
 Wrangell has already played their next matchup,  a  2-0  win against Klawock on the 18th. Hoonah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
